Golfing near Mount Snow, Dover & Wilmington Vermont

golfingGolfing in the Green Mountain National Forest is one of the true pleasures in all of golf. With mountain-top vistas at the tee box and challenging pine trees that love to eat golf balls for lunch, you'll find golfing in Southern Vermont is both fun and memorable.

The best time of year for golfing in the Brattleboro, Bennington, Dover, Manchester and Wilmington areas is from May to October when the weather is warm, but never humid. Most courses will open up in mid-to-late April depending upon how quickly the snow melts and they can get the courses dried out. Once the grass is cut, the region offers a handful of the most competitive professional courses in the country.

Haystack Golf Course is known for being long and narrow. It's about precision on this course. Mount Snow's Golf Course is wider with dozens of blind tee shots, curved fairways and long holes. You can really let the big dog loose on Mount Snow. The trick to both courses is navigating their mountainside slope - no fairway or green is level. You also have Equinox in Manchester and Brattleboro Country Clubs in the area. Both are beautiful, professional courses that give you lasting views and unique challenges.

Most inns and lodges in the area will offer some kind of golf pacakge, check with your innkeeper for details.
